POW Film Fest 2021
POW Film Fest is Portland’s premier film festival showcasing the work of women and non-binary directors. For the 2021 festival, we decided to explore the dark, isolating experience of the 2020 pandemic—looking for power in pain. Drawing from that inspiration, I developed the look and feel for the 2021 event, designing a logo, seal, feature film posters, and icons for the short series.
Feature Films
For the feature film posters, I collaged together stills from the films. Leaning into the experience of lockdown; how days blurred together, causing us to only remember snapshots. I layered the images in mixed order allowing them to overlap the image next to them creating a more dynamic visual.
Short Series
Pulling from the collage feature film posters, I used vintage photographs and illustrations to create icons for the Shorts Series.
POWtv
POWtv is a virtual viewing station created by POW Film Fest for discovering stories told by women and non-binary filmmakers, offering an alternative to the overused motto: Netflix and Chill.

I was brought on to create a logo and illustration for the launch artwork. I explored multiple logo options before we landed on one that was bold and evocative, while still maintaining a soft, rounded form — echoing the organic shapes within the illustration. I developed an illustration style reminiscent of Art Deco. The illustration mirrors itself to frame the POWtv logo, and the technicolor palette adds a vibrant, modern twist.
POW Zine 2019
POW Film Fest is Portland’s premier film festival showcasing films directed by women. POW was created, in part, to celebrate women in their quest to thrive and grow in the film industry. The Directors zine supported that effort by boosting the visibility of over 90 women and non-binary directors from the local Portland area.

Since its publication, the zine has been featured in the Portland Mercury. Read the article here.

As a volunteer for POW Film Fest, I worked alongside the creative director, Nora Colie, to develop a style and layout for the zine. The ancient warrior cover illustration by Elisa Seitzinger and the classical studio photography by Emma Browne helped shape its visual language. The combination of photography and illustration created a style of mystical, antique elegance that called for dramatic type treatment and simple black-and-white printing. To add another dimension to the zine’s antique, feminine vibe, we decided to print it on rose-toned paper.
The arch of titles serves as a visual cue—leading the eye to connect the director's name to their story and journey in the industry.
